I should have expected that winter wouldn’t let go so easy. One day it’s sunny and 70 degrees, the next it’s sleeting with 35 mph winds. Where do you go on a cold, wet day to write? I found a great place to stay warm.
Write Anywhere #29: Bakery
Between the optimist and the pessimist, the difference is droll. The optimist sees the doughnut, the pessimist sees the hole. -Oscar Wilde
Cookies, petit fours, cupcakes, donuts and wedding cakes greeted me as I came in the door. A warm drink and a beautiful chocolate covered raspberry-filled jelly donut helped me settle at a small table and enjoy the sights, smells and tastes. I did some people-watching for a while. I learned two things about bakeries. There’s a reason the glass display cases are at the average 6-year old’s height. And no one ever comes into a bakery with a frown on their face.
Where did you write this week?
Question: Do you like donuts? What’s your favorite flavor?
